My dear Tom:

Carolyn came to my room early this morning and told me her sweet piece of news, which, I will
say I was not unprepared for.

Next to your two selves, their is no one in all the world who can be more interested in your
love for each other than I am day. I will tell you how dear a child she has been to me.
