Hold Runaway Horse Walking on
Broken Leg
Brady Tex. Oct 15. Dick
Marsden and another young man
were driving ud town from the
depot when their horse became
frightened and began to run.
Turning a corner while going at
full speed the buggy was over
turned and both the young men
thrown out. The other young
man was unhurt but Marsden's
right leg was broken just below
the ankle both bones being
broken. He did not turn loose
the reins but held to them until !
he had stopped the horse walk-
ing on the itump of his broken
leg fully thirty yards. The
bones cut through the flesh and
the wound filled with dirt so
that the doctors feared that
amputation might be necessary.
But now they think with the
cool weather and careful atten-
tion it may be possible to save
his foot.
