favorably with those of a. similar
period in 1915.
During the three months 1914 foil
taxes were paid. There remain wer
2000 poll tax receipts yet bo be is-
sued by the collector.
The 45078.S3 collected in
represent only a small part to be
exact less than 29 per cent of the
total amount to be collected in taxes
"between now and Jan. 31 1917. About
$5000 of the amount already collect-
ed represent money paid into the of-
fice on delinquent taxes.
In October 31r. Shannon collected
$5406.48; November. $8640.57 and
in December $31031.78. Of the De-
-omhpr collections nearly s.uow was
'received yesterday the last working

City Tax Assessor and Collector
Arthur Cross Saturday reported the
total city collections for October
November and December 1916 to be
$1084.36. One hundred and thirty-
four poll tax receipts had been issued
up to today. The collections al-
ready made represent less than 1"
per cent of the total collections leav-
approximatcly $5 per cent to be col-
lected in the month of January 1M7.
Both the number of iolis issued in
1916 and amount of money collected
for taxes are larger than similar
collected at the close of
Brawn wood.
