Some one in the audience asked to
what office he -was ever elected and
Mr. Sweet replied that Wynne was

he had no democratic opposition. "He '
is a good man" said Mr. Sweet "but
not the man for the place of Attorney
General. The people who stand for
honest government should hold up the
hands of the present Attorney General

our forces over the county and make
our best fight for honest officials.'

Oflicors of Hie Fifty Thousand Club
Think Mrctingr One of General
Interest and Importance.
The Brownwood Fifty. Thous.tmi
Club has sent Jolm G. Lee as a C:Qli-
gate to the Co ference of Commcretal
and Agricultural interests to be held
at Fort Worth today and Saturday.
The officers of the club deem the nit f t-
ing a very important one in the his
tory of Texas.
The movement has for its objectia-ti
the making of Texas an attractive lo-
cation both for the settler who wishes
to locate on its broad acres and for
the commercial man who would install
factories and various enterprises.
While' the projectors of the movement
wish to make no radical change in the
code yet there are statues which need
some trimming and pruning to best lit
them for adaptation to a greater Tex-
as. Notably among such are the crim-
inal laws which admit of too much d J-
lay in felony cases and against which'
the Galveston conference set its foot
down firmly. It was the sense of the
meeting that legal red tape -unreeled
in an endless string in a felony cases
appealed reversed and remanded un
til the suite's witnesses were scattered
beyond recall was class legislation
and played into the hands of an of-
fender who had a good bank account.
Another matter used in resolution
by the Galveston conference a id
which will be taken before the" Fo t
Worth assembly is the imperative
need of legislation looking to perfect-
ing land titles. Conditions in Texas
are in bad shape partly owing to old
Spanish grants and later to thoso
made by the republic of Texas field
notes of which are in many instances
defective and records sometimes lack-
ing. That court calendars are always
full of "trespass to try title" cases is
evidence enough that some remedy
hould be found for the present chaotic
condition of titles very general all over
the state and retarding improvements
where legality or a conveyance is de-
batable. If the movement resulted in
nothing more than to perfect the land
titles of the state it will he worth all
the time the commercial secretaries of
Texas are expending on the proposi
tion-.

New Ideas in Tailoring
The old idea of Tailoring service was to sell the goods
take orders arty old way to' get them. The man who wore the
clothes was a secondary consideration. But things haye changed---Tailoring
houses have cngagedin the business to build up a perma-
nent trade and to do so they must necessarily make dependable goods.
Especially strong is this feature in -the sapipics we are showing.
Our line is chuck full of catchy classy things that delight our cus-
tomers who see them. The new showings in browns and greys for
Spring wear can t be equaled by competing tailors we invite you
