Municipal Campaign to
Be Warm Affair If All
- Reports Prove Correct
Rumor that in some way seems to
be quit general in .Brownwood- is to
the effect that the mayor's race this
year is going- to be cne of the. warm-
est::m.uiilcipalf campaigns ever carriei)
on in Brownwood although as yet no
mani has announceiL.for the position.
jln':f this '- connection it seems to be
taken foi. granted that Mayor Lo'ohey
wilibe a candidate to succeed himself-
and T that the opposition will line up
with John Mahley former city sec-
retary as their candidate.. Manley and
the mayor are both warm personal
friend and this is where the inter-
esting part of the campaign is sup-
posed -to come in. It is probable that
announcements will be-" made within
the next -few days.

this policy is going to be pursued In
regard to all work in the city of

Thoimain object is to protect citir
zens who live here from being crowd
ed out by an influx-of .outside labor
and lo also impress upon all .the nec
essity for becoming sufficiently inter

city to pay poll tax and t hus be en

questions but to go up to the 'polls and
vote on such problems as may from

adopted by the council will go into
effect the first day of February thia
year. The obvious moral is that men
who expect to obtain work in Brown
wood will do well to at once see about
their poll tax receipts.

location of the fire when the alarm is
turned in as the exact place registers
