The Day Came at Last.
Special permission to accompany
the French armies Into Strassburg was
asked by Captain Dnnner grandson of
Baron Pron prefect of Strassburg dur-
ing the war of 1870. At the time of
the old city's bombardment the cathe-
dral belfry was struck and from the
debris the prefect secured a piece of
granite and -Instructed his children
thnt whenever the day of liberation
enme they should take the stone back
and present it. to the authorities of
the town. Carefully kept during the
4S years. It was to be returned to
Strassburg by Captain Danner on the
very day of the entry of the French
troops. Christian Science Monitor.

Chas. Ray at Lyric Today.
Toby Watkins is the all-around
drudge on his uncle's farm a twenty
acre patch of black mud entirely sur-
rounded by mortgages. This Is the
opening sentence from Julien Joseph-
son's scenario ''String Bean3" which
serves to introduce Charles Ray in his
next Paramount Picture which will
be shown at the Lyric theatre today.
In highly condensed form it presents a
vivid picture of the story's opening
scenes. Adv.
