THIRD GRADE NEWS
Thanks to our'room mother ..
Mrs. York, Mrs. Stibbens, and
Mrs. Halbouty, for a nice party on
Wednesday before Christmas. We
entertained with a short Christ-
mas program. Other visitors were
Mrs. Collinsworth, Mrs. Taylor,
and Mi-. Stibbens.
We will be sorry to lose Michel
Halbouty this week. He is going
to Alaska to joint his father. The
class is giving him a going away
party Friday afternoon.
We enrolled four new pupils
Monday. They are Carolyn Sue
Blackard, George Gunter, Spencer
Hale, and Bob Woodall. Our class
enrollment is now 35.
The third grade girls organized
a"House Cleaning Club" Monday.
They clean the room twice each
week. They are going to give
some programs. Carolyn Connel-
ly is president: Carolyn Sue
Blackard. Barbara Lou Stibbens,
Alice Taylor, and Barbara Ann
Montgomery are the program
committee; and Alice Taylor is
chairman of the committee.
INTRODUCING A SENIOIi
The attractive little iioncle
whom mo I of you alreday know
is Betty Crycr. Betty was born
in the neighboring city of Lavon
on September 2, 1930, and re-
ceived the first seven years of
her schooling there. She moved
to Wylie and joined our class in
the Eighth Grade and made a hit
with her fellow classmates.
Betty is Assistant Editor of the
Pirate's Log and Assistant Busi-
ness Manager for the annual, and
holds the honored position of
football sweetheart. She is a
member of the First Baptist
Church.
Betty's main hobbies are good
shows, good music and dating
her boy friend, Thomas. After
graduation she plans to have a
business career if nothing inter-
feres.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Haekler and
Jeanenne of Fort Worth and Inez
Ilaekler of Dallas, visited Mr. and
Mrs. Wylie Haekler during the
holidays.
Mike Kincaid of Dallas was
the weekend guest of her grand-
parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. N. Pow-
ell.
