It's the same point that Hen
Franklin made over two hundred
years ago: "We should hang to

Today the face of the idea is
expressed as "Entertainment and
Fun" by the South Texas Chamber
of Commerce. Knowing that the
whole of the membership is greater
than any of its individual members
the South lexas Chamber has tin

square miles that are Bastrop
County,
We believe that the coopera-
tion between tfie Chambers for the
cities of Smithville, Bastrop, and
Elgin could lead to a lessening of
civic rivalries and a greater spirit
of cooperation.
A lessening of any of the cities
in the county is a lessening of all.
We congratulate the three cities'
Chambers on their efforts to pro-
mote the county through this
South lexas program. Next on their
to-do list should be a promotion of
the county by its three principal
cities. -DM
