there will be a meeeting of the
stockholders of the Colorado
Texas ft. Mexico Railroad Com-
pany at the general offioe of said
oompany in the oity of Abilene
in Taylor county Texas on the
13th day of August. 1904 at 12
o'olookm. for the purpose of
authorizing said oompany to ap-
ply to the railroad commission
of the state of Texas for authori-1
ty to issue bonds . to determine
the amount of bonds to be issued
the rate of interest to be paid
thereon and to authorize the
board of direotors to oreate afirst
mortgage or trust lien on all of
the property of said oompany to
seoure the payment of same; to
authorize an application for bonds
to build terminals depots round
houses maohine shops general

property of said oompany in Abi-
lene Texas; to authorize the
board of direotors to contract
with parsons firms or corpora-
tions for the construction of its

kell.Texas to Llano Texas and
from Haskell Texas toQuanah or
Vernon Texas or some other
oonneoting point on the Ft.
Worth A Denver City Railroad;
and from LlanoTexas to Comfort
Texas and for suoh other further
business as the board of direotors
may desire to oontraot for.
And notice is also given that a
meeting of the board of direotors
of said oompany will be held im
mediately after the adjournment
of the stockholders meeting at
the same plaoe and on the same
dayjforthe'purpoae of electing the
officers of said road and for the
purpose of applying for authority
to issue suoh bonds as may be
provided for.bythe stockholders
and to contract for the construc-
tion and equipment of its rail-
way as aforesaid and to amend
its oharter by extension of same
from Haskell to Quanah or Ve'rn-
non or some other oonneoting
point on the Fort Worth A
Denver City Railroad and from
Llano to Comfort in said state of

may lawfully oome before the

Buffalo Gap.
L. S. Ross and others issued
an appeal for the establishment
of a Confederate home in Texas.
Ballingerwas reported partly
under water from a rise in Colo-
rado river.
Forty-ono oars of oattle of 09
unloaded at Abilene were start-
ed on the trail to the plains.
John Medarte offered his liv-
ery stable for sale.
W. H. King shipped oattle
making sales as follows: One
oar steers 900 pounds $3.30
four oars oows 740 pounds $2.20
three oars 2-year-old heifers
500 at $1.90 two oars yearlings
427 pounds at $1.66. They were
four days enroute to Chioago.
O. W. Steffens received a "dai-
sy" now carriage.
J. M. Daugherty and J. L. Ste-
phenson were shipping oattle.
Wheat sold as high as 75 oents
in some oases.
J. G. Lowdon was re-oleoted
treasurer of the school board.
The summer normal was to
open July 22nd.
Mr. Joe Rushing had moved to
Abilene to make it his pet ma
nent home.
