From late-dispatqhes wet infer
that both armies are preparing
for a great battle on the Yalu
river but soon it may oome
off there is no means of making
an intelligent guess at this time.
The Russian Vladivostok fleet
was reported to have sunk Jap-
anese transports with 4000 -men
but the rumor is. not believed to
be true.
Russia's Baltio Sea fleet will
sail for the Far East in July it
is again said part' of it to go
around the. continent of Afrioa a
part through the Suez canal.
Japanese reports are that their
army have already.foroed a pass-
age across the Yalu river but
this is not confirmed.
- Russia ooonpies strong posi-
tions in Northern Korea and in
Manchuria where they will await
the Japanese it is said
Japan announoes that she will
not follow the Russians beyond
the confines of Korea and Man-
ohuria even if she wins there as
her war is waged to foroe the
Russians 'to abandon Chinese
and Korean territory.
