A CONVENIENCE
The extending of ei'edit lo you by a re I a ft
store is a convenience FOR YOU. The keep-
ing of books collecting accounts and the hun-
dred and one little details pertaining to the
bookkeeping department of a modern store
is nifide necessary only because of the credit
extended to you.
And this credit is for Your Convenience. -
Always bear in mind that the merchant
hasn't anything to gain by extending you a
?ine of credit. In fact he has everything to
lose with nothing to gain. " ' "
If you pay your account in thirty clays or
thirty years he is then no better off than if
you had paid him when you made your pur-
chase in fact he is OUT because he has hat!
to pay money to keep your account on his
books and to collect it.
The best lie can do when he sells you on
credit is to get his money back.
r
The merchant is always glad lo extend you
the courtesy and Convenience of credit when
you pay your bills promptly that's a service
item to him but when you don't pay you
prove yourself unappreciative.
When you insist by refusal to pay that
your merchant carrv vou on his books for
more lhan thirty days you are asking too
much of him. unless at the time of the pur-
chase you made arrangements to carry the
account for a longer period.
The obligations vou incurred last month
lire due now and every unpaid bill epnlractcc
more than thirty days ago is past due.
ff you can't pay your bills Don't Buy.
Go without rather than become a dWul
beat. Your merchant your neighborsand
your associates will think more of you.
A man to be respected must first respect
himself and that's something a "dead beat""
and a "debt dodger" can't accomplish.
There's not that much character about him.

KEEP YOUIl CREDIT GOOD

house which in turn sends out reports on
vour credit lo everv member of this associa-
lion. Every month additional reports go out.
Every month your credit is revised. If Vou
have failed lo Pay Up. if you are losing
ground and gradually slipping into the
'dead beat' mire the merchants you are doing
business with' and asking for credit know.
They are acquainted with your condition
and will probably stop your credit shortly if
thev haven't alreadv done so.
Keep your jH&dit good. Pay your bills. No
matter. hojjFar behind you are you eairget
