juice to a quart of berries. Let stand

bread crumbs from soft part of loaf

bread crumbs . eggs slightly beaten
cream sajt arid pepper. Mix well und

Bcald two cups of milk wUh 1-2
cup ground coffeo. Mix 1 1-4. cups of
sugar l tablespoon of flour l-S tea-
spoon salt and ono egg slightly beat-
on then gradually pour on the hot
mixture Coolf for about twenty min-
utes over hot water stirring con-
stantly. Whon cool add ono quart of
cream and ono tablespoon of vanilla
strain and freeze

Two cups quartered -mushrooms'
1-2 cup butter 1 tablespoon lemon
juice 4 cups' brown 'stock. 4 table-
spoons flour 1 teaspoon salt 1-4 tea-
spoon pepper;
Molt butter' add mushrooms and
lemon julco and simmer 10 minutes.
Stir In flour and' cook and stir till
perfectly blended. Season with salt
and popper and slowly add stock.
Cook fivo minutes after all stock is
In sauce. Pour over sweetbreads.
Bride's Cnke
Three cups sugar 1 cup butter. 1
cup milk. 3 cups flour 1 cUp corn-
starch 12 eggs (whites) 2 teaspoons
cream of tartar 1 teaspoon' spda 1-8
teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 1-2
teaspoon rose water
Cream butter and slowly beat m
sugary Dissolve cornstarch in half
tho milk and add to first mixture
Dissolve soda In remaining milk and
add' to mixture.
ML and tift cream of tartar 'ind
salt with flour. Afdd to first mlx-
ture'.and beat perfectly smooth. Scrapo
mixing spoon to be sure tho whole
Is Well blended
' Beat whites of eggs till stiff and
dry and-fold into batter. Turn into
buttered and floured pan and take
'45 minutes in' a moderate oven.

be '.baked in this cake.
. Cover the cake with boiled. Icing.
Use a pastry tube and pipe fancy de-
signs around the fides and top. A sort
cake; This makes it necessary to
cover the cake with ornamental icing
