SOLICITORS ARE MEETING WITH

fully to $100000000
War Fund.
The Red Cross drive ln Abilene
and Taylor county started off
with a bano Monday morning and
from all indications the desire of
the committees to have the work
completed by Tuesday night bids
fair to be realized.
Both the
i mend women team
started out at 9 o'clock
In Abilene
and progressed famously. By
noon Mr. Leu Faucett. chairman
of the women's committees In the
City had received reports from
several of the women team cap-
tains and every one of them re
ported they had "gohe ovFr the
top" with their quotas. The wo.
men's quota In Abilene Is $500
and by noon the sum of 1470 had
been reported With several teams
yet to report.
No reports had been received
officially from the men at noon
but Judge Overshlner declared
they were making splendid pro.
grecs and would wind the work
Up in record time.
Reports from other parts of the
County Indicate the Red Cross
campaign Is "taking on" like a
prairie fire. Many of the smaller
places are over the top Includ-
ing Tuscola Ovalo Trent View
and Tye
The campaign Is going good all
over the Abilene district accord-
ing to reports received by T. C
Campbell district field represen-
tative. For Instance Stamford
reported that she had gone over to
the tune of 60 per cent while
Cisco l over the top with 67 per-
cent to spare.
There is the utmost confidence
that the city County and district
will go over the top but the w&rk.
ers intend to keep at It and make
as large an oversubscription as
possible.
The solicitors have so far met
with nothing but the utmost
cheerfulness and liberality from
the public.
