primary.
Senator Bailey has borrowed
money and paid every dollar
Back. He has never spokeen
of voted against the people.
He is honest and has the ability.
We need such a statesman in
the Denver Convention at this
time.
We publish this week the
pledge and form of ballot for the
May primary. If you cannot
conscietniously take the pledge
stay away from the primary.
A Republican or a Populist has
no more business in a Demo-
cratic primary than a Democrat
Senator Senater has never
met Hon. H A O'Neal in discus-
siou of the Baiiey question, al-
though he has challenged Mr.
O'Neal on two different occa-
tions and the challenge has been
accepted.
These Anti-Bailey pretended
preachers of political purity and
civic righteousness look like
thirty cents, since their political
and moral records have been un-
covered disclosing their rotten-
ness and villiany. They say we
indulge in personal abuse. Let
us see your credentials when
you pose as preachers of purity

traffic. Of all classes, the la-
bor class should be prohibition-
ists. They, more thau any class
are the victims of its ravages.
We are in sympathy with the
federation, but we are in fa-
vor of prohibition for their sake.
The Federation of Labor
which met in Ft. Worth last
week went on record as oppos-
ing prohibition of the liquor
If east Texas cannot raise feed
at home, we had better abandon
our farms and try the cactus
plains of west Texas and Mexi-
co. If your farm is not 88lf sus-
taining, you had better abandon
it and fish for a living. This ia
plain talk, but it is alarming and
disgusting to see the amount of
corn, hay and meat sold in At-
lanta to the farming classes.
No wonder we mortgage and pay
$1.25 for corn.
It was a great disappoiutment
that Senator Bailey did not get
to fill his appointment at this
place. We cannot blame him
under the oiroumsfcances.

Everything In Groceries At This Store
The fight against Bailey is a
fight against organized democ-
racy.
Baileyism means fldelidity to
people and opposition to all
forms of trusts and predatory
combinations of wealth; a clean
record tind devotion ?o Southern
principles; an ribilif.y to cope
with the strongest enemy and a
sympathy that aids the weakest
friend;, a spotless record politi-
cally and a statesmanship un-
paralelled. Yes, we believe in
baileyism.
The correspondent of the Dal-
las News from Atlanta reports
that journal which has boasted
its fairness in giving both sides
of any controversy, as cutting
out of his reports all which is
favorable to J. W. Bailey, so
culling it as fo make its mean
ing misleading. How the migh-
ty have fallen! It has always
been rotten in politics. It is
time the people were discarding
the old harlot for a purer, fairer
paper.
Did you know that the Nat-
ional banks are almost a unit
in opposition to Senator Bailey?
Why is this? In his amendment
to the Aldrich financial measure
and in other legislation he has
sought to prescribe their powers
to produce and promote panics,
and to limit them in their con-
trol of the Nationat currency,
G. W. Riddle, manager of the
Texas fight, is president of 52
National banks. How many
bank presidents do you recall
who are supporting Bailey?
Who compose the leaders in
the figtft against Senator Bailey?
Here are a few of them: M,
M. C r a n e, a disgruntled,
defeated candidate for Govenor
who represents more I rusts than
any man in Texas; W L. Craw-
ford, a republican lawyer of
Dallas—voted the republican
ticket for twelve years; E. G.
Senter the longwinded state Sen.
from Dallas, who disgraced the
30th Legislature by making an
eight hour filibustering speech
and drinking frequently fiom a
bottle of red liquor; Cyclone
Davis, the arch-traitor of the
Populist party and who is for
any thing, if there is a little
money in it; Judge Gerald of
Waco, of Bran's Iconolast fame;
Cullen Thomas, who thinks Bai-
ley defeated him for Congress;
Cone Johnson, the Hopper, who
tore Bryan's name from the
head of the ticket, practiced in-
fluence in connection with the
I. & G. N- receivership case for
money, who^worked on one sid
of the Hogg and Clark question
and voted on the other; The
Dallas Newg, which has always,
fought the democratic party it!
Texas and often in. the na -on;
The Houston Chronicle, the vil-
est sheet in Texas and which is
said to be under Hearst domina
tion; and Robert Vance David-
son, the landlord of hai?1' t-.
Can you afford to line up with
a gang whose leaders are such
as these? If these leaders had
to undergo such a thorough and
.searching investigation as has
Senator Bailey, there is no tel-
ling what rot^eness would be
disclosed. They have proved
nothing on Senator Bailey to
his detrement. He is head and
and sholders above any of the
gang in ability . Why not*send
him to Denver to help make the
national democratic platform? *
WOMEN S WOES.
Atlanta Women are Finding
Relief at Last.
It does seem that women have
more than a fair share of the
aches and pains that afflict hu-
manity; they must "keep up,"
must attend to duties in spite of
constantly aching backs, or
headaches, dizzy spells, bearing-
down pains; they must stoop
over, when to stoop means tor-
ture. They must walk and bend
and work with racking pains and
many aches from kidney ills.
Kidneys cause more suffering
than any other organ of the body.
Keep the kidneys well and health
is easily maintained. Read of a
remedy for kidneys only that
helps and cures the kidneys and
is endorsed by people you know.
Mrs. H. W. Thaxton, living
northeast of Atlanta, Texas,
says: "My back was paining
me a great deal and one day I
happened to find a box of Doan's
Kidneys Pills which my husband
had brought from Nipper Bros,
drug store. I began using them
and had not taken all of one box
when the backache disappeared
and the kidney secretions which
had been rather irregular were
corrected. I am thankful for
this cure, and believe that Doan's
Kidneys Pills may be depended
upon in alls kinds of Kidney
trouble.
