RINGING
A* morning dawns on the Atlantic seaboard Saturday. Octo-
ber 29. doorbells will start ringing—eigbt million an hour—to
signal the arrival of a Scout with a Liberty Bell doorknob hanger.
His message: '"Vote."
Hours later the last Get-Out-the-Vote hell will ring and the last
message will be delivered on the Pacific coast. It's the big day
the Scouts have been waiting for—their chance to practice good
citizenship by urging voter-citizens to practice good citizenship,
too. The Scouts—three and a half million of them—will do
their part.
November 8 is the voters' day. Before then, voters prepare to
make intelligent choices by studying the issues and the can-
didates. On Election Day, they will thankfully exercise their
privilege to vote in a free country where the majority makes
the decisions for the nation.
