\\ ^ee, Dad, hurry! They're all ready to start!"
The Jones' car slowly rounded the corner,
and thru the dim early morning mist the
headlights picked up the details of a busy scene.
Beside the First Methodist Church a dozen or more
cars were drawn up, some disgorging a cargo of
packsacks, bed-rolls, fishing rods, and Scouts, others
being systematically loaded with the same equip-
ment. Scoutmaster Bob Murphy was busily check-
ing the Troop roster and assigning Scouts to the
cars which were being loaded. QM Jerry Brown was
supervising the stowing of tents in the Ford pickup.
Excited last-minute chatter flooded the air —
"Now, Billy, if you get a cold, I want you to stay
out of the water."
"Hey, ma! Didja put my camera in my pack?"
"Jimmy, have you seen your Uncle Ned? He was
going to drive his car."

Camping is not just "time out" while boys
have a good time. It provides the setting
in which we do our best training. We have
pledged ourselves to train young Ameri-
cans to move "Forward on Liberty's Team,"
and this outdoor program plays an impor-
tant part.
