Young Woman's Disappointment No
Fault of the Butcher.
She Is such a sweet little thing a
bride of only four months that tho
Harlem butcher with whom she was
taking her first lessons In mnrketlng
was delighted to see her come Into
the shop. He waited on her himself
and never so he says took advan-
tage of her inexperience. If he was
busy she stroked the fine Maltcso cat
stretched lazily in the window and
waited for hiin.
"When this cat has kittens" sho
said to him ono morning "will you
be kind enough to let mo have one of
them. I am so fond of cats."
"When that cat has kittens" said
the butcher "you certainly shall havo
your pick of thf'm."
She waited a few weeks and then
mentioned tho subject to hi in again.
"Nothing doing yrt lady" lie re
plied.
A week or two afterward alio ox-
pressed some Impatience to the cash-
ier. "I Khali be gone from the neigh-
borhood" he said "before I get that
kitten he proail: ed me."
"If you wait until Hint cat lias !:tt-
tens" said the cashier with a smile
"you'll wait until eatisages prow in
strawberry beds."
