These are Busy Dnys for the Painter
and Paint Dealer.
In no previous fall ha.-- the local
paint trade been so brisk. Many gal
lons of paint are being applied
ndorn and protect the exterior o
buildings and much Inside paint in:;
is being done.
The fall paint season has now bo.
come a fact. A few years ago praeM-
eally no painting was done in lh-i
fall now il has become n close rival
of Ihe spring season. The develop-
ment of the season as a good paint ing
tune is on a sound ha-is. Settled
weather conditions and the absence
of winged insects that cause trouble
by slicking (o the fresh paint give
it a strong advantage and property
owners generally have more time in
the fall months lo give attention to i
the impi-oeniont of I heir buildings.
The present rush is abo lo some
extent accounted for by I ho late
spring of this year which made the
spring paint ins; season a short one.
Tliis hu.iy painting hcason indicates
general prosperity. While paint is as
much a ccesslty as a 'luxury yet nr.
trade fee's any financial depression
quicker tlnni the paint industry. The
brisk paint trade can therefore be
viewed with gratification not only be-
cause it means general improvement
In local property but also because it
augers financial prosperity.
Paint dealers state that a remark-
able feature of this fall's trade is the
large Mile of floor finishes. This is
undoubtedly due to the change that
has come about ni floor flinish stylos
has come about in floor fiinish styles
carpet and rugs by finished floors.
