army has advanced sixty miles south-
ward from Kronstadt and are now nt

Paardeberg on Roberts' left while
Oliver's command of Boers who at-

of Judge Field's decision by the court
of appeals the republicans today re-
moved the gatllng gun from the state
bouse yard to the executive building
where they might be used with effect

is taken to indicate that the republi-
cans do not intend to evacuate If the
court of appeals decides against Tay-
lor. Taylor Is expected to come back
to the capitol soon. A large quanti-
ty of provisions arrived today by
boat from Cincinnati and was taken
to the arsenal. 'The republicans are
preparing for a siege of State House
square and expect more soldiers. 'It is
