4 mission in the state under civilian authority;
5 (13) Texas Iraqi Campaign Medal, which shall be
6 awarded to a person who was inducted into federal service from the
7 Texas National Guard, without regard to the place that the person
8 was deployed while serving on active federal military duty, after:
9 (A) March 19, 2003, in support of Operation Iraqi
10 Freedom; or
11 (B) August 31, 2010, in support of Operation New
12 Dawn; and
13 (14) Texas Afghanistan Campaign Medal, which shall be
14 awarded to a person who was inducted into federal service from the
15 Texas National Guard after October 6, 2001, in support of Operation
16 Enduring Freedom, without regard to the place that the person was
17 deployed while serving on active federal military duty.
18 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
19 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
20 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
21 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
22 Act takes effect September i, 2011.
