HESE 5 2 Scouts are the Har-
mon Foundation Scholars for
1930. Their Scholarships will
enable them to attend colleges all over
the United States. The Harmon Foun-
dation Scholarships are among the
highest honors of the Boy Scouts of
America. They are awarded only to
Eagle Scouts, and for conspicuous
and unselfish service of some con-
structive nature denoting character,
perseverance or self sacrifice. Candi-
dates must also present evidence of
good scholarship and high ideals.
Nearly 200 applications for these
awards were made last year, and it
was a difficult matter for the judges
to make selection from the fine rec-
ords submitted. The records of these
52 Scouts are outstanding and we feel
confident that they will justify their
Scout training in whatever activity
their future work lies. We extend to
these Harmon Foundation Scouts and
to previous classes our congratulations.
