Four local merchants were hon-
mored with certificates of achievement
by the Fort Hood Criminal Investiga-
tion District at a luncheon at the Fort
Hood Officer’s Club Monday.
The erchants three from area
pawn shops and one from an area
gun shop alerted the CID and local
police to suspected illegal activity by
customers in their stores.

Floyd E. Pagel then owner of
Guns Etc. was notified by one of his
employees Oct. 19 that an individual
was trying to sell a weapon that had
been previously reported as stolen
from an on-post residence.
Pagel instructed his employee to
purchase the weapon immediately at
a cost of $300 and obtain full identifi-
cation of the seller. Upon obtaining
the weapon and identification Pagel
notified CID. Pagel’s actions helped
CID recover an additional stolen
weapon and further identification of
