(THE--- UJRRO,
fI PUBLIC SPEAKING CLUB
It has been an inspiration to spectators to note the wonderful
progress made by the Public Speaking Club under the able leadership
of Mr. Chaney.
The members of this club have been benefited by the practice
received in composition, declamation, debating and extempore speaking.
Because of the many delightful speeches and orations delivered
in assembly by the boys, as well as the girls, our school is loud in its
praise of the Public Speaking Club.
BACHELOR BOYS' CLUB
A group of young men appreciating the advantages to be derived
from such "exclusive" association which will give them-"Quietude
and Liberty"-thus organized themselves for such purpose.
Their motto is: "Lie Loe o' Wimmin."
THE GIRL SCOUT CLUB
The Girl Scout movement has been organized for the purpose
of giving girls a larger life, and developing good citizenship among
them through right use of their leasure time. Its aim is to co-operate
with all bodies working to this end.
Under the leadership of Miss Wallace and Mrs. Louis Franklin,
the girls have been given pursuits which appeal to them and have
thus learned many useful crafts.
BACHELOR GIRLS' CLUB
The membership of this club reached its maximum, thus it be-
came necessary to divide the club into two sections, Misses Stamper
and Walker acting as sponsors for the two divisions. Although each
section has its own officers, the aim of each division is:
"To foster school spirit, boost for a new High School."
EL LOCO CIRCULO
Since Spanish is spoken in more separate governments than any
other language, and as a study in school has increased the past six
years far beyond the growth of any other language, we, the Spanish
students of M. W. H. S., deemed it necessary to organize a Spanish
Club. By so doing we have found that a social use of Spanish not:
only makes the study more enjoyable, but creates sympathy with the-
races who speak it and so educates and broadens our outlook on life.
La sana moral
Consiste en amarse bien
En hacer a todas bien
Y en no bacer a nadie mal.
THE JUNIOR-SENIOR GIRLS' CLUB
Junior-Senior Girls' Club has been one of the most active in the
Hi School. The aim of this club is to foster in the girls of M. W.
High School a spirit of clean and w:o'lescme girlhood. The members
are making an earnest effort to interest all the girls in the Hi School
in their work. The club stands for Christian womanhood.
Several entertainments have been given, among them a banquet.
With Miss Colvin as sponsor, this club has become a "live wire."
