................................................ 2 0 S a n to ............... .............. .................Basket ball was a dead sport in Mineral Wells High School until the
season of 1921-1922. For the last few years no interest has been taken in it
by the athletes or student body. Under the able supervision of Coach Fra-
zier, it was made a major sport this year.
The material upon which to build a team was very poor, with only one
old man back. But before the season closed Mineral Wells was recognized
by the teams in this section as a strong one.
Taken as a whole from the standpoint of games played, the season was
a very successful one, but from a financial standpoint it was a very poor
one. The most consistent players will always win and we find these in
the form of Hardy Dansby and James Eastland as guards; Charles Porter
and Kenneth Burck as forwards; A. T. Cooksey at center; Sam Robertson,
Richard Grimes and Richard Griffin were good at any position.......... ,'22 ,
