JUANITA STONE
As you may suppose this lass
is very hard-hearted on account
of her name, a word of explana-
tion must here be given.
"Stone" does not always imply
hardness of heart, for thousands
of years ago Juanita's founder
of her race was a very soft-
hearted fellow, and was nick-
named "Stone" by his neighbors,
who were cruel and wild. This
characteristic of old Stone is one
of Juanita's also. She is sweet-
tempered, generous, always has
a kind word for everyone, at-
tends to her own business, and
is a good student when she at-
tends regularly.ANNA STROMAN
Anna is very gentle and pa-
tient until her patience is ex-
hausted; then she is not so
gentle. But Anna stays with
anything until she wins out, or
if she does not, it is just be-
cause it is not possible. She
has no difficulty in making good
grades, for she is studious. She
is a jolly girl, and she laughs
any time the notion takes her
-even in Latin class, which all
know is very serious. She is
friendly, unselfish, but will not
let anyone impose upon her.JOHN TUCKER
Take the quaintness and late-
ness of old Dan Tucker, and
after peeling off the other bad
qualities, mix well with the hon-
esty of Benjamin Franklin and
sweeten with the patience of
Job, spice with the wisdom of
Solomon, throw into a frying
pan on which the fatness of
Fatty Arbuckle has been melted,
and after browning several min-
utes; name this new dish John
Tucker. John is a fellow one
can depend on without receiving
any disappoinment. He is a
good pupil a good basket ball
player, and, in fact, he is good
for anything. John should cer-
tainly go forth into the wilder-
ness of pleasure and preach
business.fw
