Worth, last week.
Messrs. W. G. Reynolds and Rob-
ert Mantooth attended the play at
Melissa Saturday night.
Mrs. W. G. Reynolds and children
have returned from a lengthy visit
with relatives at Whitewright.
Mrs. L. M. Talkington and daugh-
ter, Miss Mary, are spending a few-
days with L. R. Talkington and fam-
ily.
Prof. W. O. Reynolds has our
school for another year, and will be
assisted by Miss Ethel Parrls of Me-
lissa.
Will Horn and wife have returned
to the farm and now making their
home with his father, Elder R. C.
Horn.
Those attending the summer nor-
mal from this community are Misses
Elsie Osborne and Carrie Tucker and
Prof. Harvey Scott.
Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Drumheller and
daughter, Miss Lola, of Richardson
are visiting their daughter, Mrs.

Messrs. Warren and Lee Barnes
and Luther Williams were Celina
visitors Sunday afternoon.
Mesdames Walter and Sam Will-
lams spent one night last week with
Mrs. Pen Lewis near Celina.
Lester Thurman, wife and little
daughter of Celina spent Sunday
with Jewett Williams and family.
Joe Graves, wife and, daughter,
Miss Li 11 ie, Mrs. Chas Snider and
daughter, Miss Emma, went berrying
Monday. They report there being
lots ot' nice fruit in the timbers and
that their trip was a most enjoyable
one.
The farmers are all very busy har-
vesting their golden grain. They re-
port that it is the finest that they
have seen in several years. Corn and
cotton are looking fine, but gardens
will soon be a thing of the past if it
doesn't rain soon.

Mrs. Annie Griffith and Mrs. Will-
ie Montgomery were in McKinney,

W. I,. Dodson left Monday for
Denton where he will attend the
summer normal.
Miss Kate Mayers was in McKln-
ny Friday and Saturday taking
teachers examination.
B. L. Shirley of Anna addressed
the citizens here Saturday in the in-
terest of 15 cent, cotton. .
Luther McCarland, who has been
In west Texas for the past eight
months, has come home to spend a
few days. , ,
Senator Perkins spoke on the sub-
ject of Woodcraft at the decoration,
Sunday evening. He made a splendid
talk which was much enjoyed.

here Thursday and took time to
shake hands with a few of the voters
of this precinct.
Mr. Smith happened to a very
pain'ful but not. serious accident one
day last week by getting his foot
caught In a hay press.
S. A. and Charlie McGowan were
In Dallas the first of the week,
while there purchasing a gasoline
power hay press, which is now in
operation here.
Zora Redman, Doll Fry, Earl Fry
and Darvln Schrimpsher were in
Greenville from Thursday to Satur-
day, where they went before the
board of examiners.
A. D. and R. A. Hope were called
to Denton last week to attend the
funeral of their father* who had
been shot and Instantly killed. To
the bereaved we extend condolence.

"Grandma" Gardenliire, known as
"Aunt Luclnda," died here at the
home of her grandson, S. H. Cade,
Friday, May 30, aged 94 years and
was burled in the Mt. Zlon Cemetery
in Rockwall county the following
day. "Aunt Luclnda" was an old
settler of Rockwall county having
lived there for more than fifty years.
She leaves a large number of rela-
tives and friends to mourn her loss,
and M. L. Foote of Millwood.
