f\UR untiring effort has been and al.
^ ways shall be to give the very high-
est grade of prescription service service
that cannot be excelled by the best
stores in the larger cities. To do this is
the highest mission of any drug store,
and no store that fails to do it reaches
the ideal standard. The first essential
is a complete stock of absolutely reliable
prescription goods, which we have. The
rest depends upon the prescriptionisi.
We exercise every care and precaution
that could add to the safety and occuracy
of our prescription work, and we are just
as particular that prices shall be as low
as quality of service will permit.

THE BEST AUTHORITY.
Ho Had it From the Mare's Own
Mouth.
The cleverest of lawyers occasion-
ally find their match when engagedin
their favorite occupation of breaking
down an opponent's witness; and
this frequently occurs in the case of
"horsy" individuals.
The following wordy contest be-
tween a hostler and a cousel is one
of the most amusing specimens of
the kind.
"Now, I ask you, under what
authority you a *e prepared to swear
to the marc's aRC?"
"Under what authority?" said the
hostler, interrogatively.
"You are to reply and not repeat
the question put to you."
"I don't consider n man's bound
to answer a question afore lie's time
to turn it in his mind."
"Nothing can be more simple, sir.
than the question put, aud 1 repeat
it. Under what authority do you
swear to the animal's age?"
"The best authority." said the wit-
ness, gruffly.
"Then why such an evasion? Why
not Ftate at once?"
"Well, then, if you must have it
"Must! 1 will have It!" thunder-
ed the counsel, interrupting the wit-
ness.
"Well, If you must have It. re-
jolnod the hostler, with impertur-
ahle gravity, "why, then, I had It
myself from the mare's own mouth."
