claims for $200,000 damages have

An innovation in the way of
agricultural fairs has been made
by the management of the Trans-
Colorado Exposition, at Brady,
July 3-8,in that no admission
charge will be made any one, but
all may come and see the fair
free. This will apply to admis-
sion to the grounds, and to the
exhibition balls. All will be ab-
solutely free. Go and see what
the great western country has to
•show.
The Poultry Pet Stock Mid
Swine Breeders Association of
Collin County, which was organ-
ized iu this city Monday, as ex-
£ressed in tbe constitution and
y-laws. will no doubt do much
toward "the general advance-
ment of puro bred poultry, pet
stock aud swine, by the diesimi-
nation among the people of a
more thorough knowledge of the
profits and pleasures in the rais-
ing of pure bred aud by the up-
holding of the right and suppress-
ing the wrong in the breeding of
puro bred poultry pet stock and
swine." The next meeting will
be held in McKinney first Mon-
day in June.

While working last Thursday
morning Bob Sanders became too
warm and was very sick for a
few hours, but we are glad to
state that he is alright now.

ter have returned to their home
in Van Zandt county after a visit
to relatives here.
Dudley Heard of McKinney was
transacting business here Satur-
day.
Mrs R A Campbell and children
returned home Friday after a vis-
it to her daughter. Mrs Hender-
son at Allen.
The Heardland school closed
Friday. Notwithstanding the
threatening weather a lar^t* crowd
gathered with well filled baskets.
Games were indulged in until the
noon hour which we will not try
to describe, but will say we hud
plenty to eat and some left, After
noon Rev Hendricks delivered a
splendid address. Then there
was a nice program carried out
by the pupils of tho school. Thus
closed another successful term.

May 6.—Owing to the inclem*
ency of the weather the Cottage
Hill decoration was not so largely
attended as formerly. Dr King
of McKinney made quite an in-
teresting talk—subject: "Ancient
Monuments." He held the audi-
ence spell-bound for quite awhile.
We all like Dr King and stand
ready to give him a hearty wel-
come at any time. Miss Bess
Culwell of VVe-toa read an essay
—subject: "Future Aims." It.
was very interesting and well
read. The introductory remarks
were made by Mr Pafford. His
words were well chosen and to
the paint. Prayer by Eld Run-
nion of Weston.

Francis were both surprised and
dolighted at seeing him at our
decoration. He will remain a
week and then return to school
in Tyler where he is taking a bus
iness course.
