The advancement of this young
man in hln ministerial calling is little
short of wonderful, as this editor
knew him four years ago when he was
almost illiterate, and entered tjje pri-
mary grade in school in order that the
foundation might be complete, taking
a seat beside tiny tols of only a few
years of age. But he suw the great
necessity for this and his ambition for
the future spurred him on, and even
though, the task was liumll^ting for
a man of mature years, but he pushed
forward, and within a short time had
risen to an academic course, and en-
tered hln college work making from
one to three or four grades each term.
I .est year he entered Burleson College
with a full lino of credits and today
lacks only one credit In UngUah, which
he can eualy make and will graduate
from Burleson this year.
From there he plans to go to sum-
mer school at the Baptist" Seminary
and take up a course In Baylor with
the next term, and has planned that he
will gruduate from Baylor In years. On
graduation frdm Burleson he will go
IxHiisville, Ky, for special .training In

plans, he is the sort of man who al-
ways succeeds and know* naught but
siiceonn when it comes to overcoming
obstacles, He is a polished gentleman,
Chesterfleldlan In manners and de-
portment, spiritual to the bottom of
his soul. He knows what the knocks of
adversity mean, but he knows how to
overcome them, and we predict that
his ambition will be fulfilled because
of his great determination, and ul-
ready he is being strongly felt as a
power in the Baptist denomination
throughout the entire north Texas
section.
He Is a christian gentleman, un-
