and all parish presidents in
the deanery.
The deaner> president,
Mrs. Wilbum Ordner of
Frelsburg, and Mrs. Ben
Hajovsky of the Brcnham
deanery were in charge of
the program and were as-
sisted by the deanery mod-
erator. Reverend Werner
Buckholt.
Mrs. Ordner and Mrs.
Hajovsky attended the Na-
tional Council of Catholic
Women convention in Port-
land, Oregan November 7-
11. and each spoke about
various topics discussed
there and how they should
be applied on the diocesan,
deanery and parish levels.
Mrs. Ordner explained
that the NCCW was estab-
lished in.1920 as a federation
to bring*together all Catholic
women's organizations in
united effort toward a com-
mon goal. The federation
now has a powerful member-
ship of 10 million women.
She pictured the organiza-
tion as a human form with
the national council as the
head, the diocesan council as
the hands, the deanery coun-
cil as the body, and the par-
ish council as the heart
Mrs. Hajovsky chose for
her topic, "Motivation —
that something inside you
which urges you to action."
Following the talks, each
commission group held its
own workshop to discuss
their problems and to ex-
change ideas. Lai r they re-
turned to the general assem-
bly which was chiefly a ques-
tion and answer period.
It was announced (hat the
national convention in two
years, April 1977. will be
held in San Antonio.
Lunch of sandwiches,
chips, pickles, cake, tea and
coffee was served by the La
Grange ladies.
