Saturday, August 2nd, from 12-5
in the Bastrop High School
Cafeteria there will bean ArtsA
Crafts Show & Sale There are
over 20 entries with a big
variety of exhibits - paintings,
metal arts & crafts, quilts,
crocheted items, silver,
jewelry, ceramics, ami all kinds
of crafts. Sandwiches and cold
drinks will be for sale and door
prizes will be given

Bastrop Readies For Homecoming

and runs through Saturday,
August 2nd It was announced
last week that the Homecoming
Queen and her court had been
selected.
Sandy Dickinson was chosen
as Homecoming Queen and
selected as first runner up was
Sarah Chalmers The rest ofthe
court will be Cissy Herschap,
Leslie Hilbig and Julie
Wilhelm
Some events planned for the
Homecoming celebration by the
Bastrop Historical Society are a
bus tour of historical sites in
and around Bastrop, a tour of
historical homes and churches,
and the opening of the Society
Museum's 18th Century Kitchen
on July 29th
In addition, all antique
dealers have been asked to opei.
during the celebration Shops
that have agreed to stay open are
the Emporium. My Aunt s Attic,
Uriesenbeck s Furniture, Tiie
Heirloom and Ketha's
Package store.
This year 's homecoming is of
course built around the nation's
Bicentennial and this is expect-
ed to add anewdemensiontothe
annual celebration
