At a recent meeting of the local
Golf Club great Interest was shown
la the coming tournament to be
held here the 26th 27th and 2th
avf April. Various committees were
appointed for the arrangement of
entertainment schedules rule and
regulation governing the tourna-
sent. These committees are at
work in full force and arrangements
are beinic made for a great and note
worthy meet.
By letters received from men
from practically all over the state
accepting the invitations sent out
by the local club it in already
known that at least one hundred
will be here for thin tournament
from other towns and cities.
The men that will be at thin in
ritational tournament are men who
ar practically all business and pro-
feasional men and men that not
only are successful in carrying on
the wheels of commerce of the
country but are also interest eel in
the development and care of their
physical make-up. They are men
who are representatives of the dif-
ferent classes of business of the
atate; men of high ideals and char-
acter and live as progressive c-iti-ena.
It is up to the citizenship of our

engaged in a little practice frame
with the Tost City dub on the Tort
diamond.
In endeavoring to steal second.
Albert Briscoe recently arrived
shortstop for the Longhorns in slid-

DROPS DEAD AT DALHART
Judge William Henry Kimbrough
of Amarillo CO died at 6:40 oMoik
Monday while he was arguing a cae
before a jury in the Dallam County
term of district court. He was as-
sociated with R. E. Stalcup in the
ca.se arid had been sptuking about
20 minutes when be suddenly drop-
pe
ted dead. Death is attributed to
heart disease. He was dead before
anyone could reach him.
According to the Amarillo News
Judge Kimhroueh was born Sep-
tember 21 1HC1 near Athens
Tenn. He was educated in schools
of Tennessee and was engaged in
school work for 20 years in that
state Mississippi and Texas. He
first was engaged in school work
at Bedford. Other places that he
occupied official positions in school
affairs were Arlington Fort Worth
Dallas Austin and Houston in the
order named. He came to Texas
in 1H8.
Mr. Kimhrough was admitted to
the bar in Mississippi. He was sec-
retary of the state superintendent
of public instruction of Texas from
1H93 to 1K9S. While he was doing
that work he spent three years in
the University of Texas receiving
LL.B and LL.M degrees. He al-
ready held n A. M. degree from a
schiwil in the eat before coming
to Texas.

for a few days on business in con-
nection with the inspection and re-

ficial prison records Mr. Dudding
estimated that 86 per cent of those
definitely connected with .crime in.
