Reflection

I've been hanging here for a long time, a
really long time. I was created by someone bored
out of their mind. I was made, hung up on a rusty
old nail in their workshop, and forgotten about.
Well, for a while at least. After my maker died,
while their grandchildren or great-grandchildren
were sifting through their junk, I was found. I was a
little bit dusty, had a few spots, but overall was still
in fairly good shape. One of my maker's progeny,
I can't recall the name right now, wrapped me
up in newspaper and took me home. The whole
way my maker's photograph and I stared at each
other.
I was quite happy to be off of that old nail,
the rust had begun to chafe. I was even happier
when I was placed upon a huge table and given a
thorough cleaning. My new master had me shining
and gleaming until I looked brand new again. He
then placed me in a frame of his own making. It
was of wood, I suppose he had taken it out of his
yard or something, but he had painted it so that
it was very dark. I thought that it complimented
me quite fashionably. Of all the frames I've had
over the years, I believe that this is my favorite,
probably because of all the care that went into its56
