Dani laughed at Jacob's comment. She
knew he really must be shocked that she did
break a rule and a law; she also knew that he
did not intend for his comment to be funny, but
dammit it was. While they were unloading, the
stretcher from the car Jacob stared at Dani. He
had never heard her laugh. He had no idea what
was causing her laughter. Briefly, he thought that
she must have been losing her mind. Dani never
laughed, never showed any kind of emotion.
Jacob was sure that his partner was going crazy;
he had no idea how right he was.
The pickup was easy. There was only one
body in the mortuary. Mrs. Webber had died at
the ripe old age of 97, and was now on her way
to a crematorium, later her ashes would be set in
a mausoleum next to those of her dear departed
husband. Sadly, Mr. and Mrs. Webber had
never had any children and it was a while before
anyone had noticed the passing of dear sweet
Mrs. Webber. The woman, who once smelled
