ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Science: 4 semesters of HS science other than physical science, or >27 on ACT
science subscore.
Deficiency: 3 hours in field other than HS field.
Foreign Language: 4 semesters, one language, in HS.
Deficiency: 6 hours in one language.
OTHER NOTES
Entering students with fewer than 64 hours and all students planning to take their first
college math course must have appropriate SAT/ACT/COMPASS scores for placement.
Consult the current university catalog for information on the schedule of future course
offerings and prerequisites for course enrollment.

Exceptions must be approved on the appropriate exception or substitution form.
ELECTIVES
General electives (may include deficiency); may not include developmental courses

Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA)
The Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre offers two tracks - general
theatre track and theatre ministry track.
The general theatre track is suitable for the student who wants
a general theatre degree or who is planning to double major.
Students in this track should be equipped for careers where a
broad background in theatre is needed including careers of service
in education; leadership in areas of arts administration, directing,
designing and/or acting; and impacting the culture in areas of
playwriting or dramaturgy.
Students in the theatre ministry track should be equipped for
outreach in inner-city ministries or in drama ministries. Careers
are available as resource persons for children's and youth ministry,
worship teams and special church productions, or with teams
interested in planting new churches.
Admission Requirements
Before being admitted to this program, a student must satisfy
the requirements listed in the SAT/ACT Placement section of
this catalog and complete an audition and interview.
THEATRE (BA)
Majors in theatre may concentrate in one of two program tracks. The
following schedules include only required theatre or theatre-related
courses. All majors are required to audition for the season and to
complete eight practicum units of crew work cycling students through
various crew responsibilities.

Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (BFA)
The BFA is a studio intense course of study designed for students with
a strong commitment to a professional future in theatre. The student
will select a major concentration from the following tracks: acting,
design and technical theatre, directing, or musical theatre. Those
who select the BFA degree plan are expected to exhibit a high level
of competence and motivation. Postgraduate or graduate study
should be a part of the future plans of the student pursuing a career
in theatre. Those with the goal of becoming college theatre
instructors should plan on graduate study terminating in the
Master of Fine Arts degree.
