Party Dec. 11
The Homemakers Class of
First Baptist Sunday School met
Wednesday, Dec. 6, In the
church parlor. Hostesses were
Mrs. R. J. Coffey and Mrs. C. E.
Homm.
Mrs. F. M. Dunn brought the
devotional from the 42nd chap-
ter of Luke, and prayer was
given by Mrs. Carmen Bembry.
Plans were made for a Christ-
mas luncheon to be held in the
Memorial Building December 11.
A Christmas tree with gifts for
Rev. and Mrs. Otis Testerman
will be a change from the usual
exchanging of gifts for each
member.
Refreshments of angel food
cake with whipped cream, and
coffee were served to Mmes. M.
C. Henry, Roy Farris, Lige Elli-
son, J. O. Houser, Carmen Bem-
bry, R. C. Wood, F. M. Dunn, R
E. Karr, Nettie Parkhill, C. T.
Huddleston, Sam Martin, R. E.
Spurgin, Joe Lamb, and the hos-
tesses, Coffey and Rowse.

Meeting in Home
of Mrs. Ellison
Doris Bryant Circle of Baptist;
WMU met Dec. 5 in the home of
Mrs. Lige Ellison. Mrs. Bennie
Green was co-hostess. Last chap-
ters of the mission book, "Hands
Across the Sea", was conducted
with Mrs. Alvie Ratheal lead-
ing.
Mrs. O. W. Brister led in pray-
er. Community mission work
was discussed and plans made
for special work throughout the
month of December.
Lovely refreshments were
served consisting of banana chif-
fon cake, coffee and Cokes, to
the following members: Mmes.
J. L Taylor, Eva Eades, J. W.
Grizzle, Viola Howell, Alvie
Ratheal, O. W. Brister, Ray Wat-
son, Jack Polndexter, Ferrin

Has "Christmas
Card" Program
The "Christmas Card" was the
subject of an inspiring program
given by Mis. Joe Bowles at the
Wesleyan Service Guild meeting
Monday night in the home of
Mrs. D. A. Edwards.
The pictures and messages of
the cards may vary from dif-
ferent countries, but all are re-
vealing the good news of the
coming of Jesus. Scripture read-
ing was from Matthew 2:1-11
and Luke 24-16. Mrs. Glen
Braahear presided over the busi
ness meeting.
A delicious Mexican dinner
was served to guests, Mrs
Myrtle Dendy and Alexa Med-
lock, and members Mmes. Joe
Bowles, E. O. Boyd, Glen Bra-
shear, Lilly Jo Brown, D. A. Ed-
wards, Arlie Fewell, V. R Hal-
tom, Olen Littlefield, Cap Mc-
Neill, E. E. Medlock, Carlton
Thomson. A. W. Wallace and R
W. Pyron.
Wedding Shower
For Alexanders
Held at Kalgary
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Don Al-
exander were honored with a
wedding shower Dec. 6 at the
Kalgary Community House.
The refreshment table was
laid with a blue net Christmas
cloth over white. A white net
tree trimmed in blue and blue
candles formed the centerpiece.
Mrs. Elbert Humble poured
punch and Mrs. Buran Jones
served cake squares to 40 guests.
Hostesses for the occasion
were Mmes. Buran Jones, Elbert
Humble, R. W. Self, Robert Can-
non, Dee Berry and C. H. Bron
son. Hostess gift was an electric
mixer.

The Gamma Eta chapter of
Delta Kappa Gamma held its
December meeting at Tell, In
the home of Mrs. Mahota Stin-
nett
After a business meeting the
program, "Mastering Language
as a Key to Better Understand-
ing", was presented by Mrs. Em-
ma Beaird of Ralls. Mrs. Beaird
discussed what the schools could
do to break down the language
barriers. After singing the Delta
Kappa Gamfaa song, the group
sang Christmas carols.
Mrs. Evelyn Lowrie, accom-
panied by her mother, Mrs.
George Smith, attended the
meeting.

Program Topic

The Kippendano Circle of the
First Methodist Church met in
the church parlor at 9:30 a.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 12.
Sweet rolls, coffee and tea
were served to Faye Hodges, Ma-
ry Work, Juanell Tyler, Lennie
Stewart and Waldeen Thomson
by the hostesses, Willa Krai and
Doris Evans.
Juanell Tyler presided over
the business meeting.
"Christmas in the New Testa
ment" was the program. Lennie
Stewart read the scriptures from
the book of Luke, followed by a
prayer by Faye Hodges, program
leader. The group sang the
Christmas hymn, "Silent Night,
Holy Night". Lovely posters were
on display and explained by
Faye Hodges, Waldeen Thom-
son, Mary Work and Willa Krai.
A period of silent meditation
and a prayer closed the meeting.
