from Amarlllo making a four bun

automobile. Ho traveled the entire
distance alone and enjoyed every
minute of the time lie was out on tho

places where there wore no roads at

that tho expense is mighty choap and
claims that he domonBtratod thla by
using only twelve gallons of gaso
line for four hundred miles. His
Uttlo machine Is a beauty and simply
cuts the wind llko an arrow runs
up and down hllla at tho same pace
and doos other stunts that some
cbaffcurs would rofuso to tackle. The
vUlior here is dollghtod with San
Angolo and amazed at its remarkable
growth. He says that he has often
heard of this town but some things
he heard he always doubted. He
adds that he is now convinced that
Son Angelo is about tho best town

Messrs. Twltchell & Trigg city cn-

ably bo brought Into tho corporation
limits. Tho original bounds of the
corporation includo only n small part
of tho territory now platted us town
lout and tho actual resldonco por-
tions of tho city havo far out prown
tho limits. This works a great hard-
bhlp on tho town In two ways lu
the first place tho revenuo necessary
to administer tho affairs 0f tho eutlre
town and from which public im-
provements must bo made is drawn
from Iho Miiall central area The
taxes derived from thl.i hence ure
not cul'llclciu to meet tho needs of
tho friowlng city nnd a Inrno :uea

ments of which it brars no Minro of
tho bunion. The narrow bounds of
tho clly makes It Impossible for the
clly authorities to copo with certain
classes who llvo n tho town but are
outsldo tho corporate limits. The
fchootlntj of tho officers la.'t week
was partly ( result of tho fact that
beyond tho Rock Island dump there
Is a sort of "city of refuge" for law-
breakers vhor? offenders are com-
pletely beyond tho juri?dctou ot the
city authorities.
To extend tho corporate limits it
l.s necessary to have n petition signed
by a majority of tho voters In the
territory to bo annexed.

tho establishment was probably equal

an excellent opportunity for minding
his own business. Glover's feelings
In tho matter finally became too
deep for word3 and ho smashed the

waitress picked herself up and ran
for an officer. Marshal Snider was
found and after a very violent and
wordy altercation on the part of
Glover and his wife he took the

the Mayor's corut this morning for a
little "social fight" -last night In a

of their money.
W. A. Hamilton James Donahoo

A Good Tent Show
Showman's luck worked tho Joker
on tho "King of Rogues" company
but in spite of tho most discourng
ng weather for tent attractions the
company put on two creditable per
formances in Amarlllo. The "King
of Rogues" Is genuine melo-drama
which exacts nothing from the audi
ence. gives opportunity for clever
"character" and specialty work and
with plenty of thrills from start to
finish. The caste Is well balanced
with several capable actors and no
poor ones. Fay who plays Gollghty
Is an especially clover youngster and
his rollicking spirit of happy-go-lucky
youth recalls tho work that has
made the younger Cohan famous.
The women of tho caste develop their
parts well. Tho company has a tent
admirably suited to its purpose and
for nn outdoor theater dresses its
scenes well. By no means loast of
the attractions Is the band and or-
chestra which Is notably good.
