City arrivod in Chicago yesterday in search
of property stolon from his residence on the
night of the 24th of Augtut. Thero was
lauen considerable jewelry silverware a re-
volver and a $1000 normal school bond of
Johnson county with eight or nine
coupons past due attached the whole valued
at 2500. Mr. Chanolor said tho burglary
had boon committed by ono man. On Sep-
tember 4th the treasury of Jobuson county
received a luttor asking tho value of tho bond
saying a stranger had asked tho writer to sell j
it for him. Tho letter was signed "Charles 1
Anderson recorder's olllce Chicago." Mr.
Chant lor on arriving hore informed l)e-
tivtive Keating of these facts. Mr. Keating
went to tho recorder's otllce
and found Anderson who acknowledged
writing tho letter and Baid ho was asked
to sell the bond by a stranger whom tie
met on several occasions in McDonald's and
Hiinkine's cauiblinit houses. Mo didu t
know his nninoand only once glanced at the
bond. Tho detectives then recollected that
the notorious burglar and jail breaker
Goorgo Wilson alias Anderson has a broth-
er in the recorder's otlico. The latter was
accordingly arrested and Ins house searched.
