ANNUAL MEETING
Or the Stockholders or the Austin Club.
Last night at 8 o'clock some fifty mem
bers of the Austin club met in first annual
session in the hall of the board of trade.
Mr. Lewis Hancock president of the club
presided and explained the object of the
meeting was to hear the report of the sec
retary and treasurer and elect the directors
of the club for the ensuing year. Mr.
Warner the secretary reported the club
had 170 resident and ten non-resident
members and there were
but five delinquents in dues.
Mr. 0. F. Drake the treasurer reported
pain into me treasury fiu343.02 and ex
pended ?!922.70 dunnii the past year leav
ing $120 on hand. The income had been
from membership fees $4800: from club
dues. $327i).9j: from house committee.
$2269.32. He reported the club absolutely

After considerable discussion as to the
election ot tne next directory of eleven it
was determined to elect a committee ot live
woo anouia stieci twenty-two names and
pttt them on the bulletin board on or
before next Saturday and that the
stockholders should meet again next
Tuesday night at 7 o'clock to elect from
those names or others that might there be
snpgested eleven directors. As the com-
mittee of five the following gentlemen were
elected: Messrs. Geo. P. Warner Lewis
Hancock C. F. Drake Frank Knight and
A. O. Watson. The meeting then ad-
journed to Tuesday night at 7 o'clock

organized at noon to-day the Farmers' Al-
liance having a clear majority and elect-
i g temporary officers without trouble.
The temporary speaker is without educa-
tion or experience and a turbulent session
is confidently expected.

Painful Accident.

ket opened weak and there were sellers all
over the pit at 98Jo and not buyers to any
extent till it had been offered down to OSJc.
The market was weak at the close May be-
ing traded in as the bell tapped at 97c af-
ter selling down to 97c.
Corn opened weak and o lower than it
closed on Monday and declined still fur-
ther and at the close at c lower than
yesterday. '
The provision market started weak under
the influence of heavy receipts of hogs.
There was a slight show of strength on
call tne market becoming weaker as the
