The Message:

"You've gone a long way,
baby!" is a reference to
the distance women of
America have traveled
since the day when Susan
B. Anthony fought for
their rights.
In 1835, Miss Anthony
taught school in New York.
In 1852, she assisted in
the organization of the
Women's New York State
Temperance Society.
In 185^-55. she held
conventions in each county
in New York in behalf of
women's suffrage.
M In 1857, she became a
leader in the anti-slavery
5 \ t movement.
In 1858, she advocated the coeducation of sexes.
In 1860, she secured passage of a bill, giving married
women the right to possess their own earnings and the
guardianship of their children.
In 1868, she began publication of the "Revolutionist"
devoted to the emancipation of women.
In 18?2, she cast ballots at the State and Congressional
elections in Rochester, New York to test the application of
the l^th and 15th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution, o -
was indicted for illegal voting and fined.
In November, 1977. Houston, Texas...women from throughout
the world meet in an International Women s confab...the
spirit and the work progresses...enlarged to encompass e
globe.
EQUALIT Y...the voices persist...a legacy from
generation to generation...they will not be stilled...their
crying need...the right to develop to their full potential
...as women.
Echos of laughter still ring down the corridors of time...
ridicule assailed its early advocates...but the effort is
now world wide...with victory...an ultimate goal.

the 21st Anni-
versary of Dr.
Hong Sit's Grace
Chapel came
DeAnza Brock,
"Girl Friday" to
Chris and
Earnestine Panos
of "God's Spy"
bestseller fame.
DeAnza Brock, in
lovely voice,sang
solo number to
honor the
occasion, and of
course, her boss
Chris Panos was
the guest minis-
ter of the eve-
ning. It was
the Panos' desire
that all should
learn more of
DeAnza, for she is
a very special person.
DeAnza helps in the management of Release the World for
Christ in which, ministry is worldwide...at present the
Panos' are conducting Crusades in India attracting thousands
in their spiritual and faith healing services.
DeAnza's father was an Assembly of God minister, now
deceased. Her beautiful mother, Bess, a music teacher taught
her voice and piano. A graduate of Oral Roberts University
(one of the World Action Singers), she has sung with the
Chrysler National Tours and the Johnny Mann Singers, also
does solo work in various television shows as well as
studio recording.
DeAnza has been an associate of Producer-Director Dick Ross
of Los Angeles, has had extensive experience in public
relations, television production, and financial estate
planning.

This year there are new Youth Council Members for the Chinese Baptist Church and a new
system for handling decisions. Alice Gee and Davey Quan were interviewed and chosen to be
co-chairmen. Representatives were elected by each group. They are: Vanell Lee - Jr. High
Sunday School; Joanie Leo, Sr. High Sunday School; Albert Lee, Youth Choir; Kim Wong,
Ac-Teens and King Loo, Royal Ambassadors. Each representative will tell their group about
any ideas for activities. The group will then decide whether or not they would like to
sponsor that activity. Congratulations to all the new youth council members. And a big
THANK YOU to last years members; you all did a very good job.
Sunday, the 29th of October, the Sunday School classes held the Halloween Party. There was
a costume contest and the winners were: GENE CHOI, EDMUND GOR, MR. and MRS. MIKE GEE and
DICKY YEE. The Sr. High Sunday School class put on a scary and frightening Haunted House.
It was so much fun, we're looking forward to it next year.
YOUTH FUN NIGHT will be on November 26, Saturday. It will be at Westbury Baptist from
6-10. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
