METHODIST CHURCH
We had a splendid day last
Sunday. We had 243 present in
Sunday school and good inter-
est in the morning and evening
services. Now the need of our
church is 100 more Methodists
to attend Sunday school. We
have at least that number of
Methodists who are not in Sun
day school. If you are one of
them, l)e sure and be with us
next Sunday. We have a class
and a teacher for you. "What,
kind of Sunday school would
our Sunday school be if every
Methodist was just like me?"
Come on Methodists and let us
make the work of the Lord
mean something to ourselves,
our neighbors atd our commu-
nity. If you are not in Sunday
school and church, be sure and
be with us next Sundav.

Ixifore you come or your pre-
pared lesson will not count, and
be sure to stay for church, for
this is where we must win in
the contest with Cooper, bro-
ther and Sister Dabnev ^av
that they will defeat us. Let us
see if they do.

Theo. A. ISinford, Pastor
Como, Pickton and Winns-
| boro, together with the Biir-
1 rounding country, sent a fin '
car of produce to liucknei Or-
phan's llome last week. The lo
cal committee headed by Mrs.
W. E. lieggs, and under fine
and enthusiastic leadership ma-
ny others worked faithfully.
The good husband turned aside
from his busy business long e
nough to very materially help
in the work. Much credit is al-
so due the local business men
for their part, as well as to ma-
ny of our farmer friends.
A fine spirit was shown in
all our services last Sunday.
Good crowds were at all servi-
ces. Sunday school showed a
nice increase over the Sunday
before. The Young Men's class,
taught by Mr. E. 13. Ward, was
especially fine. They are doing
things now. Mrs. Binford's
class of young married people
was also fine. This is doubtiess
the most efficient class in our
Sunday school. The men's class
meting at the Amusu, is show-
ing fine signs of life . Watch
for real work from that class.
It is coming to the front.
Let all the men know that
this is a Bible Lecture Class,
and that nobody will be embar-
rassed by a failure to know
the lesson. You will have part
in a real fellowship, in good
singing, and can listen to a
real lecture on the teachings of
the Bible. You will enjoy it
and be benefitted by it.
Our Stewardship and Enlist-
ment meeting will begin Sun-
day and will continue the next
week. We often have meetings
in which we instinct the unsav
ed in the way of salvation. We
call them to faith in Christ
through the teachings of tin
Bible. This meeting is to in-
struct Christians in the way of
Christian Stewardship, cailing
them to faith in the same God
on the basis of the teaching of
the same Bib!;-. Just as really
as sinners need to kno- :,how to
be saved, just that really do
Christians need to know their
duty on these lines. Christians
ought to set a good example for
sinners in giving a faithfu.
hearing to those things to be
brought from the word of God.
and also in beleiving in those
things. Let every Baptist at-
tend every service. Others are
invited to come, as we will
preach things that will be fine,
for all Christians.
The subjects for Sunday are
at 11 a. m. "Testing God's Pro-
mise" 6:30 p. m. "The Funda-
mental of Stewardship." Both
will call for deep searching of
heart and fine spiritual percen-
tion.
The public i8 invited to al!
our services. We have a very
fine spiritual atmosphere. We
love the Lord and we love men
We are here to serve. Anyone
desiring a conference with the
pastor can do so on appoint-
ment. Many are seeking such
conferences in recent davs.
