We Salute Two of TJ's
Miss Tom Collier, head of
the Home Economics Depart-
ment and manager of the cafe-
teria. retired at the end of
the term with 441 years of
teaching to her credit-and
she plans to be around next
year to get in some time at
substituting for regular teach-
ers. All of that tells a story
of a person truly dedicated
to teaching and working with
others.
Miss Collier's hearty good
humor, her ability to "pitch
in and help" when the going
was rough, and her general
air of confident efficiency in-
spired confidence in the hearts
of the most timid.
Miss Collier has watched
the growth of her department
through the years with much
pleasure. and she admits that
she gets a thrill out of it when
some of her former students
say, "Miss Collier, I remem-
ber how you taught me to do
this!"r "
