be held March 27 and 28.
The Seniors presented their play,
"Bound to Marry" Friday, January
24. This was an excellent play. Ev-
eryone enjoyed it greatly and report-
ed it to be among the best plays ev-
er present at1 McAdoo. The profits
derived from the play are to help
defray graduating expenses.
The Junior class is going to pre-
sent its play "Young and Healthy"
sometime in the near future. The
purpose of presenting the play is to
secure funds in order that the Jun-
iors might entertain the Seniors with
a banquet.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Walker of the
ton county all last week, to be at
the bedside of Mrs. Walker's lather.
H. J. Shaw of Krum, who died. Mr.
Shaw was 88 years old and had lived
on the same place for 56 years, i-le
was a pioneer settler of Denton (Jo.

Ida Floyd Finney. Refreshments of
hot chocolate and cookies were serv-
ed to the gr|up. \
The Cap "Rock "Union, which is an
organization composed of the young
people of several Epworth Leagues,
is to have its monthly meeting on

Mr. and Mrs. Beryl Churchman
have returned to their home at Mt
Hope, Kansas, after a weeks visit in
the C. W. Artley home.
Mr. O. J. Edler was a Waco visi-
tor the latter part of the week.
We are glad to welcome into our
community Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Jus-
tus and family; the Justus family ara
formerly of Oklahoma and will make
their home on the farm recently va-
cated by the McKinney family.
Mr. Edward Shipman and Dan
Shaw of Crosbyton visited Thursday
in the W. R. Shipman home.
Mrs. W". K. Dazey entertained on
Thursday with a lovely birthday din-
ner in honor of her uncle, Jap Green,
and Mr. J. F. Edler. "Uncle" Jap's
cake boasted eighty-one candles,

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. McCracken and
nieces, Mary Louise and Margie Mc
Cracken, were guests in the R. C.
Ratheal home Sunday.
Little Miss Mary Isabelle Ratheal
is recovering rapidly from an attact
of influenza.
The Counfy Sing Song was held
at Pansy last Sunday. There was
good singing and a large crowd at-
tended.
Mr. Ralph Murphrey has gone to
Fort Worth and Alvarado to attend
to some business and visit with re-
latives.
The father of Mr. J. P. Williams,
of the East Plains, died in Nebraska
Friday, January 31, 1936.
Miss Dorthy Murphrey spent the
week-end in Crosbyton with Mr. and
Mrs. Jarrel Murphrey.
Mr. Clifford BradJ>erry who has
been visiting his sister in New Mex-
ico has returned home.
A meeting was held February 5,
1936 for the farmers of the Leather-
wood and Pansy District to discuss
a new Farm Program.
Miss Evelyn Starrett has been ill
with tonsilitis. We are hoping she
will soon recover:
Mr. Jim Wall of Estacado has been
seniously ill with pneumonia. The
people of this community are wish-
ing him a speedy recovery.
Mr. C. W. Hash has been sick for
mos£ of the past two weeks, but is
recovering rapidly.
Messrs Cohda Starrett, W. A. Wal-
ker^ John McCracken, Ray Morgan,
Clyde Starrett and J. H. Wall at-
tended trades-day in Spur Monday
The snow last week provided some
good moisture for the farmers wheat
