When your eyes are examined
by Dr. Voss:
A history of your eyes and
visual symptoms is recorded. This
case history is important to the eye
examination and diagnosis of your
eye condition.
An internal eye examination is
made with the opthalmoscope for
evidence of disease or defect.
When the need is indicated by
the history or symptoms the Electronic
Tonometer is used to measure the in
traocular pressure for evidence of
glaucoma.
An examination is made for de
fective vision caused by astigmatism
near or farsightedness or muscle im
balance.
If the examination reveals the
need for glasses or contact lenses
they are prescribed for the clearest
most comfortable vision possible.

FORT HOOD SENTINEL
When confronted with Nor
man Lear the NBC program
ming strategy seems to call
for Jack Webb. The semi-ar
tificial Emergency got good
numbers in the tough 7 p.m.
survival area on Saturday
nights.
So this year NBC hauled
another Webb production
Chase out of the program
ming closet to confront
Maude on Tuesday nights.
The characters are about
as plastic in this opus as they
are in the Saturday nighter.
Chase stars a helicopters a
motorcycle a hot rod and a
police dog named Fuzz
which in turn are driven or
kept by Reid Smith Brian
Fong Micheal Richardson
and Wayne Mauder all under
the immediate supervision of
Mitchell Ryan.
Ryan seems to be the only
"real" person in the hour-
long adventure series and
displayed considerable
strength of character and
rugged appeal in the series
first run.
Ryan is head of a quasi-of-
ficial plainclothes police unit
which handles cases that
nobody else has any luck
with. In the opener a rolling
casino disguesed as a tractor
trailer was hijacked during a
stakeout. This led to an inter
national car theft ring.
The accent on the series
seems to be on continual
movement of the machines
including the important final
chase. However little
suspense was generated.
COULD BE ANOTHER
HIT Caught another CBS
premiere last week which
could go all the way if it gets
past the problem of station
clearance.
Many stations simply
aren't carrying Calucci's
Department in its Friday at 7
time slot figuring it has no
chance against Sanford and
Son to start with.
The comedy spoofs the civil
service bureaucracy and
stars James Coco as a depar
tment head. He gets comic
help from Candy Azzara
Jose Perez Jack Fletcher
Peggy Pope and others.
Cocco plays another lovable
bigot in the Archie Bunker
genre but this show is the
first good one I've seen that
isn't a British import.
I caught the series on chan
nel 4 from Dallas at 4 on a
Sunday afternoon however
KTBC in Austin airs it in its
Friday at 7 time period. Do
yourself a favor and miss
Sanford and Son for a week
you may not go back.

Radio President Sam Cooke

A network spokesman said
