sion (CCA) succeeding Lt. Col.
Frank J. Vidlak Jr.
A change of command cere
mony was held in Theater No. 3
January 6.
Colonel Clark came to Fort
Hood from Fort Stewart Ga.
where he was executive officer
of the 3d Medium Tank Batta
lion 32d Armor.
He first entered the Army as
an enlisted man in 1941. He was
commissioned in August 1942 and
later participated in the cam
paigns of Sicily Naples-Foggia
Rome-Arno Southern France
Rhineland Central Europe and
Ardennes-Alsace. He was a mem
ber of the 2d Armored Division
for a time during World War II.
Colonel Clark attended high
school at Long Island N. Y.
and once was an advertising man
with a firm in Dallas Texas.
Colonel Vidlak who has com
manded 13th Cavalry since Jan
uary 1959 is scheduled to at
tend the Armed Forces Staff Col
lege Norfolk Va.

Catholic Couples Jan. 24
A Cana Conference for Catholic
couples of the Fort Hood-Killeen
area will be conducted from 1-4
p.m. Jan. 24 in the Religious Edu
cation Center Building 442.
Couples will hear talks by a
panel of four speakers who will
present professional aspects of the
involvements of the marriage con
tract. The speakers will be in
troduced and questioned by the
moderator Lt. Col. William D.
Meara 1st Cavalry 1st Armored
Division. Included in the panel
will be a doctor a lawyer a
nurse and a priest.
Members of the audience will
be urged to submit written but
unsigned questions to the panel
members of their choosing.
Following the talks and ques
tions the Caiia Conference will
conclude with Benediction of the
Most Blessed Sacrament and re
newal in unison of -the marriage
vows.
Free nursery facilities will be
available at the site of the con
ference. This service as well as
a coffee-break will be offered by
members of the Sodality of Our
Lady of Perpetual Help under
the direction of the Sodality Pres
ident Mrs. G. S. Webb.

ter to wine at a wedding feast.
