lowing report concerning the de-
cision :
There were three cases before the
court. One of them came up on a
writ of certiorari from the Circuit
Court of Appeals at New Orleans.
This court had reversed the action
of District Judge Bryant in appoint-

the state court (Judge Brooks) bad
appointed Robert J. Eckhardt. The
Supreme Court today affirms the
action of the Circuit Court of Ap-
peals, decreeing also that the cost of
the receivership shall be defrayed
out of the funds of the company.
The second case involved the con-
stitutionality of the law providing
for the appointment of a receiver to
wind up the affairs of a corporation
convicted of violating the anti-trust
acts. This case the Supreme court
today dismissed for want of jurisdic-
tion, holding that no federal ques-
tion was presented. The effect of
this, of course, was to allow the
judgment of the State court to stand.
The third case has come to be
popularly known as the mam case
against the Waters-Pierce Oil Com-
pany. This is the case which the
judgment of ouster was rendered,
