There was.a large attendance during the session of the
Association. At its close, the religious interest in the com-
munity seemed so great, the Davilla Church decided to con-
tinue to have preaching for a week, and the services of Elder
W. W. Harris were obtained for the purpose. It is expected
God will abundantly bless Davilla and its vicinity.
Perfect harmony, peace and brotherly love, as becometh
followers of Christ, pervaded the deliberations of the session
of 1871.

NOTE.-The committee appointed to meet with the Little River Asso-
ciation, and suggest the propriety of the two Associations uniting in the
location of an Institution of Learning to supply the wants of the denom-
ination, &c., report that they met with the said Association at Caldwell,
and that the following was the adopted action of the committee appointed
by the Little River Association.
" We, the committee appointed to confer with the committee from the
Leon River Association, beg leave to make this our joint report, viz:
That we recommend the Baptists of the two Associations to build up a
Baptist Institute of Learning of high grade, .by a joint stock educa-
tional company. We furthermore recommend the Davilla Institute, un-
der the superintendence of Bro. R. L. Hood and lady, to the favorable
consideration of the Baptists of the two Associations."
