age girl leaving her car in the parking lot at
West Texas Gas in a spot reserved for custom-
ers and was getting in with someone else.
•5:05 p.m., caller reported a fire 13 miles
east on Lake Marvin Road.

Doxie Restaurant.

•1:30 a.m., caller on Gilmer complained of
loud music from her neighbors behind her.
•9:05 a.m., walk-in requested to speak
with deputy about filing a complaint.
•5:06 p.m., female subject called and re-
ported she is still receiving harassing phone
text messages from her husband's girlfriend.
•12:24 p.m., caller reported a semi travel-
ing at a high rate of speed south of the Y.
•6:22 p.m., caller reported a commercial
alarm on the second and third floor of Abra-
ham Trading Company.
•9:24 p.m., caller stated there was a pup-
py tied up at the Riverside Motel that did not
have water or food. Deputy responded and
the owners agreed to take the puppy inside.
•10:15 p.m., caller reported an accident on
highway 60 and FM 3367.
Saturday, Apt I 2B
•11:54 a.m., received 2 abandoned 911
calls. Upon callback, reached subject who
stated she was fine, but her friend thought
she needed an ambulance.
•1:29 p.m., caller reported she had found
a small child, approximately 3-years-old run-
ning down 3rd Street from Nelson. Child's
mother showed up while deputies where
there. Child was released to the mother and
CPS was contacted. This was the second in-
cident in 10 days.
•1:34 p.m., caller requested an officer
come to the Canadian Courts n reference to
a diamond ring that had been reported sto-
len.
•2:21 p.m., caller reported a fire three to
four miles west on FM 1268.
•3:13 p.m., received CPS child welfare n-
take report.
•7:27 p.m., deputy reported some type of
high wire down behind the YMCA.
•8:15 p.m., caller had spoke to her mother
on the phone and said she was a little shook
up over something. Caller asked if a deputy
could go by and check on her.
•8:35 p.m., walk-in requested to speak
with a deputy to file a report.
Sunday, Apr 27
•6:22 a.m., caller reported an accident on
highway 60 west of the Y.
•12:12 p.m., ambulance paged to highway
33 and FM 2654 for a man with a broken leg
at a rig location.
•4:24 p.m., caller reported someone in
a maroon Mercury SUV had stopped at his
residence and was trying to talk to him in a
dialect he could not understand.
•6:37 p.m., caller reported kids ridding
4-wheelers on the public street across from
the Boot Camp.
•8:59 p.m., caller reported loud music at
the 7th Street apartments.
•11:18 p.m., hospital reported a Hispanic
male was in the ER with a possible stab
wound.
Monday, Apr 28
•7:05 a.m., hospital page out EMS on an
unconscious patient and requested a deputy
to be on the scene.
•7:36 a.m., caller reported a white pickup
had been rolled and abandoned at the low wa-
ter crossing on Mendota Road. Caller stated
the keys were still in the truck.
•7:50 p.m., caller reported an abandoned
vehicle on FM 1268.
• 9:24 p.m., caller reported smelling smoke
at her residence.
Tuesday, Apr 29
•12:45 a.m., caller reported a small blue
car that had ran out of gas on highway 60 west
of the Y.
•7:31 a.m., 911 caller stated she had just
seen 4 men crawl through the drive-up win-
dow at the Dairy Queen. Deputy responded
and men were working.
The Sheriff's Department responded to 4
calls requesting a vehicle unlock and 5 calls
regarding loose farm animals.

ed 2 dogs at large on the 700 block of King-
man.
•Friday, April 25,5:40 p.m., caller report-
ed a white Lab that has been hanging around
in the area.
•Saturday, April 26, 9:37 a.m., caller re-
ported a dog loose on 8th and Elsie.
•Saturday, April 26, 1:23 p.m., caller re-
ported a red and white Collie outside her
home. She said it would bark at her and put
her back into her trailer when she tried to go
out.
•Sunday, April 27, 10:35 a.m., caller re-
ported a dog at Lowes.
•Monday, April 28, 7:53 a.m., caller re-
ported a small furry black dog on Kingman.

Brandon Wayne Robertson
DPS seeking
suspect in
trooper shooting
Law enforcement officers through-
out the state are looking for Brandon
Wayne Robertson, 37, who is a suspect
in the fatal shooting of a DPS Trooper
James Scott Burns Tuesday night in
Marion County.
Trooper Burns, 39, was shot and
killed by a driver he had stopped near
the intersection of FM 729 and FM
1969, northeast of Lake of the Pines. At
approximately 7:57 pm, Marion Coun-
ty dispatchers received a call over the
trooper's radio from a citizen stating
that the trooper had been shot.
Trooper Burns is the eighty-third
DPS officer to die in the line of duty.
Law enforcement officers through-
out the state are looking for a blue
Dodge Intrepid with Texas license
plate 039-LCG and for Brandon Wayne
Robertson, 37, who is a suspect. Any-
one with information about the where-
abouts of the vehicle or its driver should
immediately call 911.
Trooper Burns joined DPS on
March 1,2003. After graduation from
the DPS Recruit School, he was sta-
tioned in Linden until that office was
closed. He then transferred to the At-
lanta Highway Patrol office on April 1,
2004. He transferred to Jefferson on
Sept. 1,2006, and was stationed there
when he died.
Before joining the DPS, Trooper
Burns had worked for the Texas De-
partment of Criminal Justice. He was
born in Longview and attended college
at Tyler Junior College, Texarkana
College and Ouachita Baptist Univer-
sity.
Trooper Burns is survived by his
wife and five-month-old child.
Funeral arrangements are pend-
ing.
