62. MISCELLANEOUS DEEDS. 1850-1925 (dates vary). 3 narrow
file drawers, 1 1/2 cubic feet.
Original land instruments filed with county clerk, including:
a. Warranty deeds, quitclaim deeds, and deeds under
order of sale, showing date and place of execution, names
of parties involved, amount of principal and interest
(when applicable), description of property, date filed,
and signature of county clerk.
b. Deeds of trust, used as mortgages or liens on real
estate or improvements to real estate. Shows date and
place of execution, name of mortgagor, name of mortgagee,
description of property involved, amount and terms of
contract, signature of mortgagor, and certificate of
acknowledgment. Also includes agreement that third party,
named trustee, may in case of default advertise and sell
the land encumbered to the highest bidder and apply proceeds
to liquidation of lien.
c. Abstracts of judgment, showing county, court of
jurisdiction, term of court, case number, name of plaintiff,
name of defendant, date and amount of judgment, court costs,
rate of interest, certificate by clerk of court issuing
abstract, date filed, and signature of county clerk.
d. Powers of attorney, showing date and place of execution,
name of person represented, name of representative,
statement of limits of power, signatures of parties, notarization,
and signature of county clerk. File drawers also
contain vendor's liens, affidavits, petitions, and releases
of deeds of trust and mortgages.
Arranged alphabetically by name of grantor. Handwritten;
SPF-handwritten. Not indexed.
