DECLARATION OF ANTONIO V. SOZA
1/ ANTONIO V. SOZA, declare as follows:
I request that Mr. Jose Velez be impeached and removed
from office pursuant to Article VI, Section 7(a)(2) for the
following reasons:
1. Letter to Mr. Gus Ramos from Jose Velez, dated
August 23, 1976, indicating that I was appointed the New District
Director of District No. 7 (no mention being made in the letter
that it was an interim appointment);
2. Letter to myself from Jose Velez, dated November 19,
1976, terminating my appointment as Interim District Director;
3. I was removed from office in violation of the L.U.L.A.C.
By-Laws and Protocol and in violation of due process of law;
. A. The Constitution By-Laws and Protocol of L.U.L.A.C.
clearly define procedures for removal and/or impeachment;
5. Mr. Jose Velez should be impeached and/or removed
from office because he has violated Article VI, Section 7(a)(2);
Article VI, Section 7(a)(6); Article VI, Section 7(a)(7); and
Article VI, Section 7(a)(8).
6. Mr. Velez has contacted the office of Congressman
William Ketchum and Supervisor Baxter Ward, indicating that I
had been dismissed from the council;
7. I request that Mr. Jose Velez be suspended from office
until the verdict of the Panel pursuant to Article VI, Section
7(c).
